Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are actually open and will shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house by using a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined residence revenue doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the correct Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for here NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays nsfas status check in the processing of their application.
